Police launch appeal after child struck by bus

POLICE are appealing for information following a collision in Warrington town centre involving a three-year-old boy suffering a suspected broken leg after being struck by a bus.

The collision, between a red bus and child, occurred at approximately 11.55am yestedray (Tuesday 17th May) at a bus stop outside the Looking Glass Public House, on
Scotland Road, Warrington.

Following the collision the 3-year-old boy was taken to Warrington General Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for a suspected broken leg.

Investigating Officer PC Robin Fisher said: “Scotland Road is a busy road in the centre of Warrington and as part of my investigation I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes that they may have any information in relation to the incident.

“I am particularly keen to speak to a woman who was seen near to the bus at the time of the incident and is believed to have witnessed the collision.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the collision is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 304 of 17/5/2016. Alternatively information can be reported anonymously on 0800 555 111.
