WARRINGTON Town’s title ambitions received a boost as rivals Northwich Victoria went down 2-0 at third placed Spennymoor.

The result means that Warrington now travel to Northwich on Saturday, 13 points clear of their title rivals, who have just three games left in hand.

For the second game running, Northwich had a crucial penalty saved, when they were trailing 1-0. Spennymoor, who still have a chance of making second in the table added a second goal to secure all three points.

Warrington now travel to Northwich, bolstered by their 7-0 victory away at Harrogate Railway on Saturday, who held Vics in a 2-2 draw at the weekend.
