ELEVEN-year-old Erin Broadhurst has been chosen to be this year’s Thelwall Rose Queen.

And she will be especially lucky because her sister, Robin, aged eight, will be one of her attendants.

Erin in a pupil at Thelwall Junior School where she takes part in lots of out-school activities such as girls’ football and samba drumming.

She said: “I was over the moon when I was nominated and I can’t wait to pick out a beautiful dress for the occasion. I am really excited and honoured to be chosen as Rose Queen and look forward to seeing everyone on the day.”

Erin’s main hobby is American-style Morris Dancing and she dances weekly with the Zirconia Morris Troupe, regularly taking part in competitions which lead to championships at the end of the year.

Erin also has another sister, Olivia, who is three.
