WARRINGTON Hospital’s A&E remains at full capacity today (Wednesday) with local residents being urged to consider other options, with some patients having to wait up to eight hours to be seen.
Hospital chiefs expressed “disappointment” that many people continued to attend with “minor ailments.”
Professor Simon Constable, Medical Director at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has continued to urge local residents to consider their options before attending the Accident and Emergency department,
“Warrington Hospital A&E remains at full capacity protocol today. Yesterday’s activity peaked around 7pm last night with patients exceeding capacity by more than 50 per cent.
“As a result, the longest wait was around 8hours, priority as always was given to severely unwell or injured patients.
“We were disappointed that many people continued to present with minor ailments which could have been seen and treated by their GP or local pharmacist. However, we did not turn anyone away.”

I can not believe people are still turning up with minor ailments! If you have got a cough or cold speak to your pharmacist first and take their advice.
I enjoy and appreciate your everyday news and posts. Thanks
Thanks Victoria – it is nice to know our work is appreciated 🙂
