Homes and cars targeted during festive season

CRIMINALS remained active in Warrington during the festive season with a total of nine burglaries and seven vehicle crimes reported between Christmas Eve and New Years day across the town.

On Christmas Eve burglars entered a property on Willow Crescent, Padgate, via a rear door window and stole Christmas presents before making off in a a Mercedes A Class.

On Boxing Day raiders entered a house on Wilkinson Street, Warrington via a kitchen door and stole a play station.

There were two burglaries on December 28, one in Birchall Avenue, Culcheth, where entry was gained via a window and a quantity of jewellery stolen, with an attempted burglary at a property in
Hayley Road South, Burtonwood.

On December 29 a burglary took place on Blakehill Drive, Great Sankey, when the property was entered via a kitchen door and items stolen included an ipad, laptop, cash and jewellery.

Two break-ins took place in December 30, one at Cherry Lane, Lymm, where a Audi S5 was stolen and later recovered in Manchester and on Froghall Lane, Warrington where a TV, Laptop and DVDs were taken.

On New Year’s day cash was stolen from a property at Wycliffe Court, Bewsey Street while there was an attempted break-in at Falcondale Road, Winwick.

Meanwhile thefts from parked vehicles were reported on Worcester Close, Great Sankey, Ulverston Avenue, Cinnamon Lane, Bickley Close, Astor Drive, Cockhedge Lane and Dorset Way, with various items stolen.

Residents are warned to remain vigilant and not to leave items of value in vehicles parked over night.
