POLICE have uncovered and shut down a cannabis farm in Howley, Warrington, earlier today (Wednesday) following a series of raids as part of operation #bluechristmas.

A total of three properties were targeted with 46 cannabis plants uncovered at the Howley property, although no arrests have been made as yet.

Officers with warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act also raided a property on Sutton Street in Howley where a man was arrested and later charged with possession of a Class B drug.

A third property on Alder Lane in Orford was also raided but no arrests made.

Operation #bluechristmas is a police initiative to crack down on crime over the festive period – a time of the year when there is often an increase in criminal activity.
