A WARRINGTON charity which is gearing up to celebrate its 25th anniversary will benefit from the proceeds of the opening night at a Winter Wonderland which is being set up on the former Mr Smith’s nightclub site.
Fairground operator Arthur Silcock has pledged to donate monies taken at the opening night on Thursday, December 10, to Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP), who will be celebrating their 25th anniversary throughout 2016.
WDP founder and CEO Dave Thompson said: “This is fantastic news and we are honoured that Arthur has chosen to support us as we head towards the start of our special 25th anniversary year.
“All proceeds will go to our Legacy Appeal which will help disabled young people into active employment.
“We would encourage everyone to come along and support what should be a fantastic event.”
The Winter Wonderland will run from Thursday December 10th until Saturday January 2nd, inclusive.
All rides will be just £1 on the opening charity night and £2 at other times.
The Wonderland will be open daily from 5pm to 8.30pm and will feature various fairground rides and stalls, including dodgems and a ghost train and a chance to visit Father Christmas in his grotto.
Warrington based Dream Factory will also put on a Frozen Show on the opening evening.

Fantastic news for a great cause to help kick start their 25th anniversary celebrations.
The rides were not £1 I went today (Thursday opening night) I quizzed the ride operator about the price but still got charged £2 and the ride we went on was being operated by a child, had no restraints and was very rough my Mrs came off injured. I hope they manage to raise money for the charity but I would like to have seen more to entice ourselves to stay and for the rides to be prices £1 as advertised here
