As part of its series of autumn seminars, the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) has announced that they will be hosting a seminar – Creating Garden Cities and Suburbs Today – in Warrington next Tuesday, November 10, at Birchwood Forum, Chadwick House, Birchwood Park.

With the recent upsurge in interest – both politically and across the built environment sector – in
exploiting the potential of the Garden City approach to development, there is now a major opportunity for local authorities to consider, through the Local Plan, whether a Garden City or Suburb could provide the right solution for the long-term future of their area; and then to help steer development to where it is needed.

Drawing upon the TCPA’s pioneering programme of research and campaigning the seminars are designed for all those interested in learning about:

•The opportunities to create new Garden Cities and Suburbs and on the benefits that they can deliver
•Understand the key questions that need to be addressed and the tools and resources available in planning and delivering sustainable growth
•Build plans for large-scale new development on the latest policy hooks

The TCPA is extending an open invitation to all those interested in delivering high-quality, sustainable new communities including local authority elected members and officers, planners, business and infrastructure providers, government officials, developers, architects, landscape architects, economists, consultants, academics and those from NGOs and voluntary organisations.

The seminar is free to attend.
