Woman overcome by smoke following chip pan fire

A WOMAN was overcome by smoke inhalation following a chip pan fire at Orford, Warrington.

One fire engine from Warrington and one from Stockton Heath attended the incident at Ambleside Crescent at 16.03 today (Wednesday) where a female casualty was treated for smoke inhalation following a kitchen fire caused by an overheated chip pan.

Firefighters gave the woman first aid until the ambulance arrived.

The crew, two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.

Meanwhile earlier today one crew attended a chimney fire at Holly Bush Lane, Warrington.

One fire engine from Birchwood attended and extinguished the fire and swept the chimney to remove any debris.

The loft space of the property was also checked to ensure that the fire had not spread.
