WARRINGTON Wolves have confirmed that prop Anthony England has been released from the final year of his contract agreeing a deal with fellow First Utility Super League side Wakefield Trinity Wildcats ahead of 2016.

The club would like to thank the 28-year-old prop for his services since he joined the Wolves ahead of the 2014 campaign. He made the step up from Championship to Super League and has gone on to make 39 appearances including 15 this season imposing a physical presence in the front-row.

He holds Warrington heritage number 1110.

Head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “We wish Anthony well and thank him for his efforts. He’s probably been a bit hampered this year and I think we would have seen more of him had he not been injured. I know he’s a proud Yorkshireman and has had to do a lot of travelling and I think that has got to him as much as anything; for him to find a club in Yorkshire is probably the best move for him.

“He has certainly improved in his time with us and I think he’ll continue to do so. I have said to him I’d have no hesitation in working with him again in the future it’s just we think it’s the right time for a move for him at this stage. I think we’ll see a lot more of him in Super League.”
