Volunteers wanted to support Warrington Festival

0

WARRINGTON Festival organisers are calling for volunteers to play their part in helping celebrate sports, culture and entertainment as part of the town’s first ever dedicated festival.

Due to the number of events during the month long festivities, helpers are needed to support different activities including the English Half Marathon and Pixie Lott’s headline slot at Bank Park.

Volunteers will be asked to signpost people to events, to provide a welcoming environment for visitors and to spread the word about the different things on offer. They will also develop skills to boost their CVs and receive discounted tickets to see Pixie Lott.

Festival organisers will be holding public meetings on Tuesday 11 and Thursday 20 August from 6.30-8pm at The Gateway, where volunteers can sign up and find out more about the opportunity.

There are a number of volunteering roles on offer including Team Leaders, Community Ambassadors and Community Engagement Volunteers. All volunteers must be over the age of 16 and be able to attend one of the information briefings above.

Jan Souness, Chair of Warrington Festival Steering Group, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for volunteers to boost their CVs whilst making new friends and finding out what it’s like to work behind the scenes at Warrington’s biggest ever festival, which brings together the whole community”.
