Luggage theft at Bank Quay Station

BRITISH Transport Police want to speak to two men caught on camera at Warrinton’s Bank Quay Station.
luggage theft 2luggage theftThey believe they may have vital information about the theft of luggage from a Birmingham-bound Virgin train on Saturday, July 4 at around 9.40pm.
Investigating officer Sgt Andrew Tomkins said: “The victim, a tourist from Singapore, left her two rucksacks in the luggage rack at the end of coach C of the Birmingham bound Virgin service.
“Two men boarded the train at Wigan North Western station without any luggage and left the service at Warrington Bank Quay station each carrying a rucksack.
“The tourist later discovered that her luggage was missing.”
“We believe the men in the images could have vital information about the theft and we urge them or anyone who recognises them to come forward to assist us with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference PSUB/B6 of 27/07/2015. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
