The 36-year-old pilot was airlifted to hospital in Liverpool by the North West Air Ambulance.
Details of his injuries have not been released but they are not thought to be life-threatening.
The crash occured in a field off Hall Lane, Burtonwood shortly before 7pm last night.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the pilot had suffered head and leg injuries.
A cordon was set up around the crash site and a fuel leak from the aircraft was contained. The powerline was isolated by the electricity company.
It is understood the microlight was seen flying over Newton-le-Willows shortly before the crash.
Residents ran out into the street because it was flying so low.
