THOUSANDS of people turned out for the annual Winwick Carnival which was blessed with fine weather.
Highlight of the day was again the popular “Lamb National” which saw sheep racing that was as exciting as it was hilarious.
St Oswald’s Sunday School Rose Queens Kathryn Thomas, 15 and Megan Dawson, 14, and their attendants officially opened the carnival – and after that there was plenty of fun for everyone.
Fairground rides,  competitions. Morris Dancing, archery, crazy golf, tombola  and displays kept the crowds happy and there were numerous stalls selling cakes, refreshments and and handicrafts – many in aid of local charities.
Live music completed an event that was again voted a huge success by local people.
