Farewell to Mr Beaky – Ackers Pit’s famous duck

VILLAGERS in Stockton Heath are mourning the death of a popular duck named Mr Beaky who shot to fame after appearing on TV’s Springwatch.
Mr Beaky had been resident at Ackers Pit, Stockton heath, Warrington for almost a decade and also appeared in the national press at the time of heavy snowfall several years ago.
Local resident and amateur photographer Darren Moston said: “Very sadly he is no longer with us.
“I found out that a duck had been found dead on the footpath and later discovered it was Mr Beaky.
“I think he had died from old age.
“We have lots of happy memories about him and a lot of people recognised him as he had a black beak and he would swim over when you called his name.
“Ackers will be weird without him being there.”
