ONE of Terence Rattigan’s best known plays, “Separate Tables” is being staged by Stockton Heath Methodist Dramatic Society
Dating from 1954, “Separate Tables” is in fact two one-act plays, both set in the same Bournemouth hotel and featuring many of the same characters in both.
It has been described as a play about people driven by loneliness into a state of desperation.
In 1958 it was made into a film, starring Rita Hayworth, Deborah Kerr, David Niven, Burt Lancaster and Wendy Hiller and in 1983 there was a television version starring Julie Christie, Alan Bates and Claire Bloom.
The play is being presented at the Church Hall, Walton Road, Stockton Heath on March 5, 6 and 7.
