A MAN who started work at Warrington bus company Network Warrington as an apprentice has been appointed the company’s managing director.
Damian Graham joined the company in 1977 and over 37 years worked his way up from the shop-floor to manager/director level before reaching the top job.
He said today: “I like to take a ‘hands on’ approach to my job and lead by example.
“I am a strong believer in recognising that our workforce is our most important asset”.
He added: “The bus industry continues to face some challenging times and the company needs to keep abreast of the many developments to improve the service that it provides to existing customers and to encourage more people to travel by public transport in future years”.
Network Warrington chairman Maureen Banner said: “We are delighted that Damian has accepted this role and I, the board of Network Warrington and the shareholder give him our full support in his new position”.
Warrington Borough Transport, trading as Network Warrington, has a fleed of 100 buses which travel four million miles a year, carrying some nine million passengers.
