Fire crews tackle roof blaze

THREE fire engines were called to the scene after fire broke out while work was being carried out on the roof of a semi-detached house at Warrington this afternoon.
The blaze involved a flat-roof at the property in Sunningdale Close, Burtonwood.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze, using two horse reel jets. The fire had spread inside the house and affected the roof space.
After the flames had been extinguished, crews made the area safe by cutting away the affected the area to ensure there was no reignition.
Fire engines from Warrington, Stockton Heath and Widnes were involved in the operation.
There are no reports of anyone being hurt.
