A councillor has reacted angrily to new incidents of vandalism in Culcheth, following repeated damage to a bus stop at the junction of Warrington Road and Culcheth Hall Drive.
The bus shelter has been vandalised on a number of occasions in the recent years, each time incurring extra cost to the council for replacement glass.
Cllr Chris Vobe (pictured) said: “The vandalism at this bus shelter is now beyond a joke, such is the frequency. Our village prides itself on having comparatively few incidents of anti-social behaviour when compared to other areas, but it seems that a selfish minority are set on damaging our amenities. Broken glass is a serious health hazard, particularly to children and the elderly who use this stop regularly. As a result, we are now exploring the possibility of having a camera installed in the shelter to clamp down on this type of behaviour.”
