BRITISH heavy rock legends UFO will be performing at Parr Hall, Warrington on Thursday March 20, fronted by the inimitable vocals of Phil Mogg and featuring other original band members Paul Raymond and Andy Parker plus American guitar hero Vinnie Moore.
UFO were formed in 1969 and their influence was strongly felt in the 1980s heavy rock scene. They have been cited as a primary influence of Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, Kirk Hammett of Metallica and Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, among others.
Seven Deadly, the band’s latest studio album combines present and future with UFO’s greatest fortes. Mogg, Raymond, Parker and Moore released twelve brand-new songs on the album featuring some of the strongest compositions. The album is an atmospherically dense fabric consisting of classy guitars, tight rock grooves and vocals which are unique to UFO.
The UFO frontman’s thoroughly impressive vocal performance goes hand in hand with the awesome compositions on Seven Deadly. The classic rock of Burn Your House Down features all the important UFO strengths, Mojo Town sees the musicians sound tougher than ever, and Year Of The Gun features a pointed reference to UFO’s early days.
This album also showcases the technical skills of Paul Raymond and Andy Parker, their music sounding inspired and faultless at the same time, and Vinnie Moore’s exceptional guitar style deserves to be explicitly mentioned.
UFO continue to be a live force to be reckoned with. Their touring schedule has recently taken them to the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Brazil, the USA and Canada, and more shows are always on the horizon.
