THE first recital of the Live at St Wilfrid’s 2014 season takes place at St Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall on Saturday February 1 when mezzo soprano Kathryn Rudge will be accompanied by Daniel Browell, piano.
Named last year as The Times “Rising Star of Classical Music”, Kathryn made her debut for the English National Opera in The Marriage of Figaro and has toured with Glyndebourne.
She has sung in three operas with Opera North, most recently as Hermia in Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream.
She will be singing popular opera arias as well as songs ranging from Mozart to Ivor Novello and Lerner and Loewe.
