Police seek witnesses to unprovoked bottle attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was hit in the face with a bottle during an unprovoked attack as he walked into a pub in Warrington town centre.
The 26-year-old man, who suffered serious facial injuries, was walking across the beer garden towards the entrance of The Postern Gate in St Austins Lane at 9.40pm last Friday (December 20) when he was hit in the face with a bottle.
DC Carl Davis said: “It appears to have been an unprovoked attacked which has resulted in serious facial injuries. I would appeal to anyone who saw the incident take place but has not yet contacted police to contact us in order to help us with our enquiries.”
A 28-year-old man from Warrington was arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault as part of the enquiries.
