Want to run a community building?

COMMUNITY groups, charities and social enterprises at Warrington are being offered the opportunity to take over management of a building in one of the town’s parks.
The offer comes from the borough council and community leisure group LiveWire.
The building up for grabs under a community asset transfer is the Orford Community Cabin at Orford Park.
Cllr Kate Hannon (pictured), the borough council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “This kind of community-led management can offer the opportunity to a charity or social enterprise to bid for extra funding to help develop the building or improve its use.
“Groups applying must be willing to work in partnership with LiveWire and other users of Orford Park to bring about benefits for the area.”
The cabin is currently owned by the borough council and leased to LiveWire.
Workshops will be held to allow interested groups the opportunity to find out more about the community asset transfer scheme and the application process. Information about the workshops will be sent to all groups which register an expression of interest.
Groups wishing to be sent an application pack can email [email protected] or call Steph Duerden on 01925 444263.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday November 29.
