A NEW singing competition aimed at finding the Voice of Warrington has been launched by St Rocco’s Hospice.
The competition is open to any 11-19 year olds who currently attend school or sixth form college, where auditions will be held.
The two best candidates from each school will then go forward to the Grand Final, held in March 2014, where each singer will perform one song in front of a panel of judges and the audience.
The winner will be invited to record their own CD at a recording session at a local studio, and will also represent their school at a number of fortchcoming hospice events, including the Starlight Walk and the Promps in the Park.
A St Rocco’s spokesperson said: “The event will raise valuable funds for patient care at St Rocco’s whilst showcasing some of the best young talent in our town.
“St Rocco’s Hospice needs to raise nearly £7800 per day each and every day to keep providing care for the families of Warrington. Your support will help us continue this care.”
