Bus strike set to continue

BUS workers are set to strike again from midnight tonight after rejecting Network Warrington’s attempts to end the pay dispute.
Warrington Chairman Maureen Banner and Executive Directors met with Unite the Union representatives last Thursday to discuss the ongoing
industrial action regarding pay.
In an effort to solve the dispute Network Warrington made what it believed to be a reasonable offer, considering the continuing decline in patronage and the difficult trading conditions faced by the company.
The Union representatives called a branch meeting yesterday (Sunday) to discuss the offer with Union members.
However it is with regret that Network Warrington announce that the offer has been rejected, meaning that the strike will continue to go ahead.
There are three more planned strike days:

•Commencing at 00:01 hours on Tuesday, October 15
•Commencing at 00:01 hours on Wednesday, October 23
•Commencing at 00:01 hours on Thursday, October 31

The Board and Management of Network Warrington are extremely disappointed with this decision. The company sincerely apologies to customers for the inconvenience caused by the strike.
The Network Warrington website will be updated regularly to notify customers of any services running on the remaining strike days and the company requests that customers visit the website before travelling www.networkwarrington.co.uk
