POLICE at Warrington have issued a warning following a spate of thefts from garages, sheds and motor vehicles.
Items such as bicycles, quad bikes and mini motos have been stolen from sheds and garages in the Padgate area and there has also been an outbreak of thefts from motor vehicles in the Birchwood area.
The incidents are taking place in the evenings and nights on all days of the week.
Residents are being urged to remain security conscious and to take steps to reduce the risk of being a victim.
Garages, sheds and outbuildings should be locked and secure all the time, expensive items such as bicycles and motor bikes should be secured and kept out of sight and garden tools should not be left in gardens.
Opportunist thieves could use them to break into the house.
Marking systems, which show that the items belong to you should be used to increase the chance of getting property back if it is stolen.
Vehicles should be kept locked and alarmed – and valuables should be removed from them.
Any suspicious activity should be reported to police.
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101. Information can also be passed on anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
