Warm welcome for Lymm High School's Superhead

LYMM High School’s new Executive Principal Tarun Kapur CBE, who was brought in to oversee the school following the suspension of controversial principal Angela Walsh, has thanked the school community for his warm welcome.
“I would like to extend a huge thank you to the Lymm school community for making me feel so welcome as I begin my tenure at the High school.
The term has begun well with a full complement of very enthusiastic and skilled staff and a calm and purposeful start by our students. Life in
Lymm High is fast paced due to the vast array of activities on offer and the great enthusiasm and commitment of our students.
“Our new year 7 students have all been inducted at our residential centre in Anglesey and on the whole they were blessed with good weather. The school is in full swing as far as lessons are concerned, but at the same time we are developing our student leadership team with elections for Form and Sports captains as well as prefects and Hall representatives.
“The Student Voice at school is so important as we need to look after the needs of nearly 2000 students.
“Sports fixtures during the week and each Saturday are up and running and we welcome spectators to Saturday morning rugby matches. You will
see that sport has a very great influence at the school from the South Africa Sports tour report from Mr Len Davies.
“Coming soon from our Performing Arts Faculty will be the upper school production of “Blackout” by Davey Anderson. This will take place from
Wednesday 27th until Friday 29th November. I am always impressed with the professionalism of the school productions and they are well worth the entry fee.
“Finally a big thank you to the very large number of Lymm residents who attended our Open Evening. We were so pleased to see so many Year 6
children taking part in activities at the ‘Big School’ and getting to know our students and teachers. Hopefully we will have inspired them to
want to come to Lymm for the next seven years.”
Mr Kapur, who has been described as a “Super head” brought in to deal with troubled schools, was appointed following the suspension of controversial principal Angela Walsh, who was suspended earlier this year.

  1. So is Angela Walsh going to remain suspended (and getting both her salary paid and her pension entitlement increased) indefinitely? It’s been many months since she was suspended and removed from the premises, but there has been no information released regarding either the specific misconduct allegations against her or what action is being taken.
