Parr Hall nominated for award

WARRINGTON’S Parr Hall has been nominated for “Best Venue Teamwork” at the national Live Music business awards.
The hall, operated by Culture Warrington, is now one of 10 venues vying for just three nomination places at the awards ceremony to be held in London on October 17 and is the only venue in the region to reach this stage of the awards, competing with London’s Royal Albert Hall and Shepherd’s Bush Empire among others.
A panel of judges will now study the entries and place their votes, with the result determining the three venues that will make it to the final.
The venue has already been recognised by leading music industry magazine Music Week when it was shortlisted for their “Live Music Venue of The Year” award.
Founded in 2009, the Live Music business awards recognise excellence and talent among promoters, venue operators, festival organisers and agents, through to artiste managers, tour managers, show producers, brand impact and record label partnerships.
Although comparatively small for a music venue attracting big name artists, Parr Hall has a strong history of hosting legendary groups such as the Rolling Stones, The Who, Arctic Monkeys and The Courteeners to name a few.
More recently The Stone Roses chose Parr Hall for their first live performance in 16 years.
Culture Warrington chairman Maureen Banner said: “It’s really exciting to have made the voting stage of yet another prestigious music award. The ‘Best Venue Teamwork’ category couldn’t be more fitting. It’s all down to the dedication, commitment and passion of the staff.
“They ensure that each and every performance held at Parr Hall reaches its full potential which is recognised by touring personnel across the country and is the reason that national promoters return time and again”.
