Pub attack leads to broken jaw

A MAN was taken to hospital with a broken jaw after being attacked in a Warrington town centre pub.
The attack took place at the Lord Rodney pub in Winwick Road where the 31-year-old victim was standing alone at the bar.
The offender walked in and is believed to have spoken to a few people before standing in front of the victim.
They exchanged a few words – and the offender then punched the victim in the face three or four times, knocking him unconscious.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses of the incid4ent at 8.30pm on August 31.
DC Ben McKay-Smith said: “The victim sustained serious injuries – his jaw was fractured in two places. He was in hospital for three days, had to have surgery to insert a metal plate into his jaw and is still receiving treatment.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the pub at the time and has seen what happened to get in touch with us – you may have important information, which could assist with our enquiries.”
The offender was of stocky build, around 6 ft tall, with a shaven head and dark eyebrows. He was wearing dark sunglasses, which were resting on his head, a light grey/blue top with a darker collar, beige/tan slim fit cargo pants and white trainers.
