Songs of praise at Wolves' stadium

A SPECIAL, free “Songs of Praise” service will be held at Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones stadium on Sunday, October 20 to welcome the Samoan Rugby League World Cup team.
The Hakka, Wolfie and Warrington Male Voice Choir will take part in the 3pm service which will feature a Samoan hymn.
Organised by local churches, the service is being held in recognition of the Samoans’ rich and vibrant Christian heritage.
The Samoan team will be based in Warrington during the World Cup campaign. A free “Songs of Praise” event is being organised by local churches and hosted by Warrington Wolves in recognition of the Samoans’ rich and vibrant Christian heritage.
The Rev Stephen Kingsnorth, a trustee of the Wolves Charitable Foundation, said: “We know that, young and old, active Wolves fans and others are coming along, so we hope there will be plenty of Wolves colours in keeping with the informal dress code!.”
Wolves’ chief executive Andy Gatcliffe said: “This is the first time a Christian Act of Worship is being held at the club.”
The President of Rugby League of Samoa, Tagaloa Faafouina Su’a added: “Planning to have the service is a great start. We are happy to contribute!”
All are welcome to attend the free event. Doors open (Gates 18/20) at 2pm for a 3pm start.
