Food festival back at new venue

THE annual Cheshire Food festival returns, but this time from a spectacular new venue – Arley Hall and Gardens On Saturday and Sunday, September 21-22.
The recipe for the weekend involves over 80 top local producers, a big serving of flavoursome hot food, real ale and wine bars, add a dash of craft and gift stalls, lots of activities and rides for the kids, demos from top local chefs, stir in a cake competition and the always popular Men V’s Food, with lashings of excellent live music and mix together to make a lovely foodie family day out.
The Cheshire Food Festival has attracted lots of producers showcasing the best in local, seasonal and speciality food and drink. It’s a great opportunity to get a real taste of the best of Cheshire produce – sample, enjoy and buy. After you’ve done your foodie shopping, sit out enjoying tasty hot food, with Cheshire’s amazing mix of cuisines including some more exotic elements – so you can try Thai pies, Ostrich burgers, or Samosas as well as pulled pork, prime steak, and the best local burgers and sausages, for those with more traditional tastes! Grab a locally made real ale or a glass of wine (or two), and sit down and relax with great live music in the beautiful surroundings of Arley Hall.
This year there’s even more for people to get involved with – fancy yourself as the next Paul Hollywood? Well join in the cake competition, categories include the traditional Victoria Sponge, Chocolate Delicious and Great British Novelty – enter online today! Baking not your thing? How about tasting and judging the cakes?! With X-Factor style judging from three experts and members of the public you could be scoring some of the tastiest cakes in the North West!
The famous ‘Men V Food’ Challenge is back, tougher than ever, are you brave enough to enter? Can you beat all comers to the illustrious Cheshire Food Festival Champion Title? Take on the food eating challenge, be the first man (or women!) to finish and the glory is yours!
For those who fancy a more relaxing day out sit back and enjoy a chef demo talk, learn about local artisan produce, or just chilli out – bring a blanket and sit out for the day enjoying great food and drink, with live music in beautiful surroundings.
