Offices plan for disused launderette

1

PLANS for the conversion of a disused launderette into offices have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning committee.
The property is in Knutsford Road, Grappenhall – part of a small parade of shops.
Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council had lodged an objection to the proposal on the grounds the proposals would lead to an increase of traffic in an already congested area.
They are also worried about a lack of access to the rear and a history of other applications in the area being refused because of concerns of traffic.
Two other objections have been received, expressing concern about parking.
The plan involves changing the use of the two storey building to two self-contained office units.
Replacement windows would be inserted at the rear to give the appearance of a shopfront at the rear.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
