Witness appeal following serious assault

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a serious assault in Warrington town centre which left a 34-year-old man suffering a fractured left eye socket, cheekbone and nose.
The incident took place at around 5.30am on August 10 in Bridge Street.
The victim was approached by an unknown man. An altercation took place, which resulted in the victim sustaining serious facial injuries.
The offender ? who is described as white, aged in his early 20s, around 5? 5″ tall, of average build and with short ginger hair ? fled the scene following the assault. He was wearing light coloured clothing.
Officers are currently investigating the incident and are following up a number of lines of enquiry including CCTV enquiries and any relevant forensic enquiries.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident ? he has subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.
