Woolston looking for strong finish

WOOLSTON Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways against Heworth in National Conference League Division Three this Saturday.
Following two successive defeats Rovers will be desperate to put in a good performance against their York based opponents and boost their confidence for the final few games of their first season back in the flagship league.
Rovers Head Coach Mike Grady said: “We were very unlucky to lose against Pilkington in our last home game but we got exactly what we deserved at Featherstone and we cannot afford to put in another display like that. We need to make sure that we are fully switched on and focussed on getting the job done.
“Heworth have improved in recent weeks and were unlucky to lose narrowly at Crosfields in their last game so they will be coming here to have a real go at us. We have suffered of late with having to change the team each week due to injuries and holidays but we can’t use that as an excuse for the last two games as the players who have stepped up have not let us down.
“We are lucky to have lads impressing in the ‘A’ team and pushing for their opportunities; I have been very impressed with the young guys who have come in recently. I am looking forward to seeing us perform at the level that we have done for the most part this year and if we can then we will prove to be very difficult to play again.”
Kick off is 2.30pm at Monks Sports Club, Hillock Lane, Woolston. Admission is £2 for Adults, £1 for Concessions and FREE for Juniors.
