Man remanded after assault death

THE case against a 46-year-old Warrington man, charged in connection with the death of a man who died in hospital on Sunday, has been adjourned until Tuesday next week.
John Edward Lowe, of Marsh House Lane, Warrington, will appear before Halton Magistrates at Runcorn again on August 20 after a remand hearing earlier today.
He is currently charged with causing grievous bodily harm to David Leslie Brown, aged 33, also of Warrington, following an assault outside Chevvie’s public house in Manchester Road, Warrington on Friday afternoon.
Mr Brown was taken to hospital in Warrington and subsequently transferred to Walton Hospital, Liverpool where he died on Sunday afternoon.
Police say his family were at his bedside.
A post mortem examination was expected to take place today.
