HEARING aid manufacturer Phonak is to move into a new, 42,000 sq ft European headquarters building on Centre Park, Warrington.
The company opened in Warrington in 1997 with just 10 staff.
But now, due to sustained growth, it will move from their existing three units to the new, larger home.
The impressive new building, with a production facility built within the site, will become the European manufacturing centre for the company, employing more than 200 staff.
It features bespoke laboratories and provides ample space for future expansion.
The ground floor of the building will contain all logistics and production departments with the upstairs floor being home to a staff restaurant, which will also double up as a conference facility, holding about 120 people, plus a training academy, Audiology Room and eight meeting rooms.
Warrington & Co. have played a pivotal role in Phonak’s move into their new bespoke accommodation and have helped them to design and build their new space in their own vision.
Phonak managing director Stuart Neilson said: “Warrington is a great place for us to do business, with excellent connectivity due to its strong transport links and proximity to the airports and the area has also provided us with a rich pool of talent and skills to enable us to find the right people for the organisation. This new facility for custom made hearing devices will enable us to manufacture products for seven different countries around the world.
“This new move will be a very natural transition, as the company has expanded over last 15 years we have grown from one building to three. This new building will enable us to bring all of those staff
together in one place and we will double our available space from 22,000sq ft to more than 40,000 sq ft providing the space we need for our long term growth plans over the next 10-15 years.
“We are keen to keep the business in Warrington and in the North West and we will hope to provide more jobs as we continue to expand. We will be creating an inspiring place for aspiring people to work in the future.
Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader of Warrington Borough Council said: “This is a great example of an international market leader that has developed, grown and put down roots in our town choosing Warrington as the
place to be. Phonak’s new facility keeps them at the cutting edge of technology, innovation and manufacturing in their field.
