MP to host Our NHS event

WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones will host a special “Our NHS” evening tomorrow (Friday) to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the National Health Service.
The event at Winwick Leisure Centre in Myddleton Lane, Winwick, starts at 6.15pm.
“Our NHS” is promised as an engaging and interactive event which will
allow members of the community to share their experiences of the health service and engage in meaningful discussions about the challenges facing local services.
Ms Jones (right) has invited two members of Warrington’s Clinical Commissioning Group to the event.
Steve Sutcliffe, finance director for commissioning) and Mike Allsop, internal commissioner) will be in attendance to take on board local people’s views, ideas and concerns about the way services are
delivered.
The event is being run in conjunction with “Movement for Change” – an organisation who use the power of community organising to make change happen.
Ms Jones said: “Over the past few weeks, I have been working very closely with Movement for Change and I am very keen to see Warrington North benefit from the type of positive changes that can arise from this level of community action.
“Many people that I have spoken to on the doorstep recently have shared their deep concerns about the future of their local health services.
“As a result of these concerns, I will be hosting the ‘Our NHS’ event
which will bring together people in the community to discuss the future of their NHS.
“This is the ideal opportunity for people to share their ideas and concerns with those responsible for
making decisions about these vital services. Most importantly, the people who make the decisions will be there to listen to people rather than preaching to them.”
