Police probe blaze at scout hut

POLICE are investigating a serious fire which broke out at a Warrington scout hut early today.
The blaze was at the scout headquarters in Windermere Avenue, Orford and two fire engines from Warrington Fire Station were called to the scene.
Gas cylinders were in the building, but were not involved in the fire.
Cordons were set up around the building and the ceiling – which had been affected by the fire – was damped down by firefighters.
Crews wore breathing apparatus to tackle the outbreak using a main jet and a hose reel jet. A high pressure ventilation unit was used to clear
dense smoke from the single-storey property, which about 20 metrs by five metres in size.
The cause of the blaze is still being investigated and anyone who has information about the incident is asked to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or Cheshire Police on 101.
