Thousands flock to festival

THE annual Lymm Festival kicked off in style with the Lymm Foodfest as thousands of visitors packed into the village centre.
The event saw Town Crier Peter Powell unveil the Big Picture, portraying the opening of the historic Bridgewater Canal, as dozens of old boats started arriving in the village for the Historic Transport Day, which starts on Sunday (June 23) at 11am.
Other local talent on display was the Lymm Artists Exhibition in the Village Hall followed by musician and radio and TV presenter Mark Radcliffe
providing “top quality entertainment in the Rugby Club marquee.
Tonight (Friday) is Comedy Night at the Rugby Club. There is also a Festival “fringe” event with guitarist Stu Clark in The Cruising Club.
