Labour choose Nick Bent again

AS expected Nick Bent has been chosen by party members in South Warrington to contest the General Election for Labour in 2015.
Nick who stood for Labour in Warrington South at the last General Election, losing out narrowly to Conservative David Mowat, said:“I am delighted to have been chosen to stand for Parliament again, and only Labour can beat the Tory MP here.
“Both north and south of the Ship Canal, disappointed ex-LibDem and Tory voters are now backing Labour’s One Nation plan for Government.
“I have made Warrington my home and it saddens me that the Tory-led Coalition Government is doing so much damage to the town. Tory MP David Mowat has slavishly voted for every incompetent and unfair policy that David Cameron and George Osborne have asked him to support. Warrington South people deserve a new MP and the country needs a One Nation Labour Government to get the economy growing again.”
Nick aged 41 and lives in Great Sankey and currently works for an education charity he co-founded in Manchester, the Tutor Trust.
Passionate about giving better opportunities to young people, he serves as Chair of Governors at the Oasis Academy MediaCityUK in Salford and on the General Assembly of the University of Manchester.
He has spent ten years working in business as a consultant and editor on environmental issues, and seven years working in Westminster and Whitehall, including as a Special Adviser to former Labour Culture Secretary and Olympics Minister, Dame Tessa Jowell MP.
A keen sports fan, he is a member of the Squadbuilder scheme at Warrington Wolves and a Vice-President of Warrington Town Football Club.
