Cycle training for adults

FREE cycling training for adults is available in Warrington as part of National Bike Week, which starts on Sunday.
A team of experts – the Freewheeling Team – will be on hand to offer different levels of training for beginners, general guidance on road cycle and expert advice on more difficult routes.
Training can take place all week and at evenings, as long as there is daylight.
Learn to ride sessions will take place at Orford Park, but other sessions can be run near to homes or businesses. Sessions last about two hours.
Cllr Linda Dirir, the borough council’s executive member for highways, transportation and climate change, said: “Warrington is a great place to cycle, it’s relatively flat and there are great sights to be seen. National Bike Week is a great opportunity to go for a ride with the family or friends or even try a commute.”
Last year the council made a successful bid to the Local Sustainable Transport Fund and as a result projects like this have been able to go ahead.
More information about Freewheeling, and an electronic copy of a cycle map of the borough are available at www.travelwarrington.co.uk
Training is available to anyone aged 16 and over who lives, works or studies in Warrington. To book a session online go to www.bikeright.co.uk/freewheeling or call 0161 230 7007.
