ORGANISERS of the annual Lymm May Queen event are urging members of the public to turn out in force this weekend to show their support
for the annual event – rain or shine!
May Queen elect is Eve Shaw aged, 11 from Ravenbank Primary School while Rose Queen elect is Ellie Caple, aged 10, a pupil at Statham Community Primary School.
Both girls have taken part in the May Queen retinue for over six years and are delighted to have been selected as this year’s Queens!
Lymm May Queen takes place this Saturday June 8 with the parade commencing at 1.30pm from Eagle Brow.
There is no theme for the procession and local community groups are being urged to enter floats.
As well as appealing for a big turn out from the public organisers are still urging local businesses and individuals to get involved and help support the event.
One of the retinue committee Kate Pritchard said: “Rain or shine we need to get the people coming to the event to support it and keep the tradition going!”
