Playgroup celebrates with name change

LYMM Village Hall Playgroup is celebrating its 40th birthday – with a change of name.
Some parents found the name “playgroup” confusing and the role of the group unclear – so it has been changed to “Lymm Village Preschool.”
Chairman Natalie Warren said: “The group has been an integral part of the Lymm community for four decade and has supported many hundreds of Lymm children in preparing them for the rigours of school life.”
The preschool is celebrating with a fundraising Ruby Ball on June 14 and a sponsored walk/toddle around Lymm Dam on July 7.
Natalie added: “We are a registered charity that is a non-profit making organisation which relies on fundraising to support the excellent standards of preschool education.
“In recent years many parents have commented that they found the current name (Playgroup) confusing and the role of the preschool not clear.
“To build on the success of the last 40 years and to ensure that local Lymm villagers are aware of what the preschool stands for, the time has come to re-brand and change the name to take us forward for
the next 40 years!”
