Optionis launches apprentice scheme

WARRINGTON company Optionis has launched its largest ever apprenticeship scheme, with 20 vacancies across its Parasol, Clearsky HR, ClearSky Accounting and Silverline brands.
Optionis employs more than 150 permanent staff members at its head office on Centre Park, and apprentices work towards recognised academic qualifications during their first 12 months with the group.
The apprenticeship scheme, which was launched in 2011, includes roles throughout the company, in the expenses, human resources, sales ledger, contracts and assignments, IT, marketing and accounts departments.
The apprentices will benefit from hands-on experience to help them develop their skills, as well as receiving study support and a tailored development programme. The scheme also features a buddy system, with someone available to provide advice and guidance throughout the apprenticeship.
Rachel Eaton, who is currently an apprentice at ClearSky Accounting, said: “The Optionis Apprenticeship Scheme is a fantastic opportunity for anyone starting out in their career. From the outset I was given responsibility and I have learnt a great deal by working closely with my colleagues. I have also been able to put the theory learned in college into practice in the workplace. I am thoroughly enjoying my time as an Optionis apprentice and would definitely recommend the scheme to others.”
Derek Kelly, managing director at Optionis, added: “The Optionis Apprenticeship Scheme has now become firmly entrenched within the company. It provides a fantastic way to help young people to find out about business whilst gaining invaluable skills. It is also beneficial for us as the apprentices inject new ideas and thinking into the business.”
The Optionis group is home to Parasol, the UK’s largest professional employment organisation (PEO), accountancy and HR services provider ClearSky and cloud-based performance management software Silverline. Optionis also has offices in Poole and London.
