Electrical fault blamed for fire

AN electrical fault is believed to have caused a fire involving a detached garage at Padgate, Warrington.
Two fire engines were sent to the fire in Bridlemere Court and crews discovered it involved a garage approximately three metres by six metres.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tacked the blaze with a hose reel jet. The electrics were isolated and checks carried out at an adjoining garage to ensure the flames had not spread.
In a separate incident, two fire engines were sent to a portable building in Station Road, Latchford after a blaze was reported. They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and a covering water jet to prevent the spread of fire to nearby buildings.
The cause of the incident has not been revealed.
