Police appeal following indecent exposures

POLICE are appealing for information following two incidents of indecent exposure in the Lymm area of Warrington.
Both incidents took place on the same day, Tuesday May 7, during the early evening.
The first incident took place along the Bridgewater Canal at around 6.30pm.
The victim – a 37-year-old woman – was out jogging along the canal towpath near to Cyril Green Close when she noticed a man lying down on the opposite bank. As she looked over at the man he indecently exposed himself to her.
The second incident took place in Rush Green Road at around 7.30pm.
The victim – a 19-year-old woman – was walking along the road when a white BMW pulled up next to her. As she looked through the window a man inside the car indecently exposed himself to her.
Both incidents were reported to police the following day. Officers are currently exploring whether the incidents are linked.
Police urging anyone with any information, which could assist with their enquiries, to come forward.
PC Lianne Isherwood, of Warrington South NPU, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in these areas around the time of the incidents and has seen anything significant to come forward.
“We are currently carrying out a number of enquiries in a bid to trace the offenders and are urging anyone with any information or anyone who may know the identity of the offender to come forward.
“Patrols have been stepped up in those areas to actively target those responsible and to reassure members of the local community. We are urging members of the public to be vigilant when walking alone and to report any suspicious activity immediately.”
The first man is described as white, in his late 30s to early 40s, of medium build with short dark hair. He was wearing jeans and a green shirt.
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 238 of 8 May and inc 490 of 8 May of Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
