Teacher nominated for award

A WARRINGTON teacher has been nominated to take part in the finals of the prestigious UK Regional Teaching Awards on May 17 – “Thank a Teacher Day.”
He is Andrew Wood, a teacher at Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School, Latchford.
Winners and runners-up for the Pearson Teaching Awards will be announced on the day.
Finalists for the Pearson Teaching Awards will receive their accolades when the results are announced and they will then be cheered on by pupils, parents and colleagues at school presentations.
Each of the winners will receive a Plato – the Teaching Awards trophy representing excellence in education. Distinctions and commendations will also be presented.
Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson, president of the Teaching Awards said: “I am genuinely proud and honoured to be the president of the Teaching Awards. I owe so much of what I’ve done to my fantastic teachers at school and university and it is exciting to join in celebrating what is probably the most important profession of them all.”
