AFTER months of searching, Warrington charity St Rocco’s Hospice has ‘filled its dance card’ with 10 amateur dancers who will take part in special glittering dance ball event.
Strictly St Rocco’s is a first of its kind event in Warrington, with all proceeds going towards caring for patients at St Rocco’s Hospice.
The event pairs 10 amateur dancers (5 women and 5 men) with 10 professionals to compete towards a glittering final and the prize of the Strictly St Rocco’s ‘Glitter Ball’.
Each amateur dancer will be taught one dance routine by their ‘pro’; training for around one hour per week for several weeks prior to the event.
Training will take place in a variety of venues. The training will culminate in a gala competition where each Pro-Am couple will perform in front of a live audience of 300 people. The winner will be decided by a panel of judges and votes from the audience on the night. This gala glitter ball event will be hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s’ Roger Phillips at Mere Golf & Country Club on Sunday 1st December 2013.
The event is being sponsored by Jones Lang Lasalle.
Director of JLL David Lathwood said: “Jones Lang LaSalle have supported St Rocco’s for the last 20 years and we are delighted to be acting as sponsor for the Strictly St Rocco’s event later this year. The commitment and dedication of the staff at St Rocco’s is an example which we could all follow and Jones Lang LaSalle intend to continue with its long-term support for this eminently worthwhile cause”.
