Scarecrow trail's circus theme

THE colourful “Scarecrow Trail” which has become a popular feature of the Lymm Festival will be up-and-running between June 20-30.
This year, organisers have decided the scarecrows should have a circus theme – which gives plenty of scope of imaginative entries.
Clowns, ringmasters, sword-swallowers, lion tamers, jugglers – the list of possibilities for residents is almost endless.
Closing date for entries in June 14 and entry forms are available on line from www.lymmfestival.org.uk or from the Coffee House on Eagle Brow, Harrison’s or Rushgreen Services. Scarecrows should be on show for June 19.
It is hoped shops and other businesses in the village will enter the competition themselves, as scarecrows in windows will make an interesting attraction – particularly for the Food Fest on June 20.
All scarecrows will be inspected and photographed on June 19/20 and the trail guide will be available from the box office at Lymm Village Hall from June 24.
Prizes for the two most popular scarecrows will be presented at the Art in the Garden event on June 30.
Last year’s scarecrow trail proved one of the best ever, with scarecrows depicting “O-Lymm-pic” sports personalities.
Despite the wet weather, large numbers of people toured the trail and voted for their favourite entries. This year, organisers are hoping the turnout will be even better.
