Registrar's office goes online

WARRINGTON’S Registrars office has launched a new online service.
Available to residents 24 hours a day, every day, the council is one of only a handful of authorities to offer this.
Residents can book their own appointment to register a birth or a death and also search, order and pay for copies of birth, death and marriage certificates online.
This is the latest development as part of the borough council’s digital strategy. There is also lots of information and help about the registrar’s service available on the council’s website including the renewal of vows, naming ceremonies, and approved wedding venues in Warrington.
Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader of the council, said: “We’ve been looking at how we can improve access to some of our essential services by making them available online. Residents are now able to use the brilliant registrar’s service at a time and place that is convenient for them, and it means a quicker and more efficient experience. Online bookings and certificate ordering is something which is only offered by a handful of authorities, and we’re proud to be ahead of the pack.”
